Independent Safeguarding Consultant, Sarah Turner has worked in education for over 25 years, as a teacher, member of senior management and for the last 15 years as a safeguarding adviser and consultant. Sarah supports schools, settings and alternative provisions to embed a strong culture of safeguarding and keep children and young people safe.

Moving out of special measures (awarded, in part for ineffective safeguarding practices) to outstanding in nine months is no easy task; indeed, it took collective commitment, courage and openness.  Enlisting the services of Sarah Turner was one of the best decisions we took because she offered expertise and deep insight.  Her attention to detail, preparation and follow up provided robust probing of our systems and practices which, I have no doubt, paved our way assuring our young people of ‘exemplary practice’ across our school.  I am looking forward to Sarah becoming our long term critical friend!
